HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Cocktail Queen has highly experienced bar staff for your event. ALL our staff are effectively trained in the art of cocktail making and creation (Master Mixologists). Our service packages below allow you to decide which staff you need at your event and for how many hours. These packages are where we supply the staff to make the cocktails and serve your drinks, the menus to choose your cocktails and the shopping list to purchase all your alcohol and ingredients. You can also hire complete glassware packages also for your event along with eskys, trestle tables, bar top tubs etc, when you book.
Just follow the 5 steps below to get your party started!
CHOOSE YOUR MIXOLOGIST
The first step is to choose which Mixologists you require for your event (scroll down below).
When deciding you need to also factor into consideration the prep time and the pack-down time. We don't do this for free this must be included in your hours that you book for.
Prep-time is the time required for Mixologist to get the bar and glassware ready for service. If you want mass cocktais on guest arrival make sure you have plenty of prep time factored in.
Pack-down time is where we return the bar over to self service towards the end of your event or pack-up the bar. The large the event the pack-down time is required. Again we don't do this for free, you must include this in your calculations.
PAY $250
DEPOSIT
To book your Mixologists we require a $250 deposit AND completion of the booking form.
Our staff are in high demande because we provide great service and the extensive training. We book out quickly weeks and months (for busy season) in advance.
We don't hold dates or staff without deposits or payment.
If you are wanting 5% discount on our pricing, we offer this with the BYO Party Packages only.
CHOOSE COCKTAILS
The fun stuff!
Now you have booked you then receive an email giving you access to view our cocktail menus. Menus are only available to view once a booking has been made.
You can choose one of our set menus which have 6 different cocktails on each, or you can choose a "Pick n Mix" menu.
To choose from the "Pick n Mix" menu for an additional small cost.
Our set menus contain all the favourites... Espresso Martinis, Pornstars, Daiquiris, Cosmos, Spritzs, Margaritas and more!
RECEIVE SHOPPING LIST
Lets go shopping!
Once you have chosen your cocktail menu you then receive your shopping list.
Your shopping list details all the alcohol, mixes to make the cocktails and garnishes that you need to purchase. We even detail how many bags of ice you need to make the cocktails.
If you have chosen a set menu you will have access to the shopping list automatically. If you have chosen a "Pick n Mix", the shopping list is sent to you via email within 48 hours.
GET READY TO PARTY!
Its time to get ready to party...but don't worry we have it all sorted.
Make sure you check the DIY Bar Setup checklist we sent you with the cocktail menus on how to setup your bar area.
If you have hired glassware and any additional items such as bar top tubs or trestle tables these will arrive a day or two before your event (we confirm this with you week of the party).
And lastly staff will arrive to prepare the bar well ahead of time before your guests arrive.
MIXOLOGIST HIRE
All our staff come equipped with their own bartending kits. You don't have to worry about hiring blenders, shakers, muddlers etc.
JUNIOR MIXOLOGIST
(Junior Bartender)
$59 per hour
when hiring with a glassware package or $69 per hour when hiring without a glassware package
A Junior Mixologist will mix up a general basic selection of cocktails for you at your event. If your just having a small size event with casual drinks or beverages, and just require a bartender, then a Junior Mixologist is required.
EXPERIENCE
Junior Mixologists have 2 or less years’ experience in the field of hospitality and are not as efficient in timings when it comes to large crowds. They are still in training to become a Senior Mixologist, and will only make certain types of cocktails. They undertake many events though mainly in a supportive role to Senior and Master Mixologists.
SERVICE LEVEL
They are able to manage up to 20 guests by themselves comfortably with cocktail service and upto 30 guests for general bar service only. For events greater than this a Senior Mixologist is required.
MINIMUM 3 HOURS TO BOOK $55 per hour
SENIOR MIXOLOGIST
(Senior Bartender)
$69 per hour
when hiring with a glassware package or $79 per hour when hiring without a glassware package
Senior Mixologists are highly skilled cocktail makers and have been with The Cocktail Queen for an extensive period of time. If you are having a mid size party and just having casual drinks or beverages and want fast and efficient professional service then a Senior Mixologist is required.
EXPERIENCE
Senior Mixologists have 2 or more years experience in the field of hospitality and are efficient in timings and service when it comes to mid to large crowds. They make a great range of cocktails. They undertake birthdays, smaller corporate events, hens partys, bachelor partys, intimate events.
SERVICE LEVEL
They are able to manage upto 35 guests by themselves comfortably with cocktail service and upto 40 guests for general bar service only. For events greater than this you will need to add on additional Junior or Senior Mixologists depending on your service level requirements.
MINIMUM 3 HOURS TO BOOK $65 per hour
MASTER MIXOLOGIST
(Bar Supervisor)
$79 per hour
when hiring with a glassware package or $90 per hour when hiring without a glassware package
A Master Mixologist brings the up most professionality to your event. They are highly skilled cocktail makers and can make cocktails 'on the fly'. If your having a mid to large size event and want everything to run smooth and efficiently with drinks flowing all night then a Master Mixologist is required.
EXPERIENCE
Master Mixologists have 5 or more years experience in the field of hospitality and are efficient in timings when it comes to large crowds. They manage mobile cocktail bars from prep to pack-down and are booked for engagments, bar mitzvahs, weddings and corporate events. They make a great range of cocktails.
SERVICE LEVEL
They are able to manage upto 35 guests by themselves comfortably with cocktail service and upto 40 guests for general bar service only. For events greater than this you will need to add on additional Junior or Senior Mixologists depending on your service level requirements.
MINIMUM 3 HOURS TO BOOK $79 per hour
FOOD SUPERVISOR
(For Food Prep)
$69 per hour
A Food Supervisor will undertake basic food preperation duties for your event.
If you are having a small to large event, and are supplying our own food and don't want to be caught in the kitchen all night, then a Food Supervisor can assist.
EXPERIENCE
Food Supervisors have 3 or more years experience in the field of hospitality and have undertaken the necessary food handling certifications to ensure food is adequately prep. They work with Junior Mixologists who act as food wait staff to ensure food is served to guests on the floor adequately and efficiently.
SERVICE LEVEL
They are able to manage upto 40 guests by themselves comfortably for small events. For events greater than this Junior Mixologists are required to assist as wait staff.
MINIMUM 3 HOURS TO BOOK $69 per hour
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW...
Before you book make sure you have taken into consideration all the following.
FLOOR SERVICE
If you are wanting staff to stand at the door upon your guests arrival with trays in hand make sure you have hired plenty of staff.
If you are having a wedding reception and want staff attending to tables...make sure you have hired plenty of staff for this.
You need additional staff for floor service. When you don't hire enough staff for the service level you require service will be compromised.
Note we don't take bookings for weddings or events where you only one want one Mixologist for 100 guests... this severly places pressure on the Mixologist and we value our staff to much to place them under this pressure. To ensure the correct ratios contact us for a quote.
GLASSWARE
You can't make a cocktail without a glass!
Glassware in the world of bartending is extremely important and is the "make or break" variable when it comes to efficient bartending. Too little glassware... and service efficiency can be severely compromised.
Whilst you may want to save on expenses, glassware is not the place to do it. If you are providing your own there needs to be alot and we don't advise on what to provide when you do this. You can choose to hire one of our essential or premium glassware packages which has cocktail, general or both included.

Staff will collect, wash and return glassware at events...just like in a standard bar. Though the larger the event the more glassware needs to be washed so you will need to consider this when hiring staff.

Well firstly we've been around for nearly 20 years... and we're pretty sure we have this cocktail making thing mastered!
We are the ONLY mobile cocktail bar tending catering company in Australia who tiers their staff based on skill, personality and performance. We supply 3 levels of bar tenders; Junior Mixologists, Senior Mixologists and Master Mixologists. They all make cocktails and all undertake general bartending also.
The tiered staff level ensures that you will ALWAYS have the right person for your event. And it allows you the freedom to choose which service level you want at your event. It's what sets us apart from the rest.
Our staff are trained in-house, we under take our own recruitment independently and we never hire from temp agencies. All our staff are "Cocktail Queens", working exclusively for The Cocktail Queen.
PURCHASING YOUR INGREDIENTS
Once you get your shopping list, make sure you don't skim on the ingredients. If you don't provide all the ingredients our Mixologists can't make all your chosen cocktails!
We recommend certain brands but ultimately the decision is up to you.
We currently don't offer shopping lists for beer and wine purchases but that is coming soon!
STAFF UNIFORM
Our staff come in Cocktail Queen uniform: all black with a discreet logo on the shirt.
Our Masters depending on the event are given free reign and dress like a professional bartender...they look extremely daper!
If you are wanting staff dressed in particular themed outfits you do need to supply these, including any tops and tail suits if it's that kind of function.

MENUS
We have lots of cocktails on our menus.. and they are only available to view once you book.
When you choose one of the set menus, their is a printable A4 menu you can print out to display on the bar.... you simply pop it in a A4 photo frame.
If you choose the "Pick n Mix" menu we can provide you with a choice of printed menus for your event for an additional cost or you can provide your own.
TRAVEL CHARGES
Travel charges are calculated from our base in South Melbourne to your location. If you are unsure check on google maps the distance - note rates are based on taking major arterials.
At time of quotation we will give you an accurate fee.
0-10kms $49 collective fee
11-20kms $59 collective fee
21-30kms $69 collective fee
31-40kms $89 collective fee
41-60kms $99 collective fee
61-70kms $120 per staff person
71-89kms $140 per staff person
90-110kms $160 per staff person
STAFF TRAVEL DETAILS
Yes we charge a travel fee for our staff to get to your location. They are using their own cars and we have to compensate them for petrol and time spent in the car...especially for those really far away events.
Our travel fees are either collective or per person. If it's collective it's just a once only fee. If it's per person...then it's per staff person attending your event.
REGIONAL TRAVEL
Please note for events greater than 1 hour travelling time from Melbourne CBD we enforce a strict end time policy for staff to be working at these events to finish by 11pm. This ensures that they get back to city limits within the hour.
Our staffs' safety especially on the road is paramount, and this policy is enforced at all times.
