1. Choose the Right Type of Staff

Start by deciding the level of service your event requires.


Standard Food Server
Ideal for serving pre‑prepared finger food that doesn’t require heating or plating. Perfect for simple service with minimal prep.


Food Supervisor + Food Servers
Best for events where food needs to be heated, plated, garnished, or managed before going out. A supervisor oversees timing, presentation, and flow, while servers handle floor service.


Event Supervisor (Large Events)
Recommended for large‑scale events where you need someone to coordinate staff, manage service flow, and ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.


You’ll also need to consider how many hours your team is required for. This includes:
•     Pre‑event preparation
•     Service time
•     Pack‑down and cleaning

Securing Your Booking

To secure your food service staff or food supervisor:


For bookings over $600:
A $350 deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your staff.  Use the deposit link that corresponds to the specific staff role you are booking.


For bookings under $600:
Full payment is required upfront at the time of booking. Select the “Pay in Full” link to complete your total payment at the time of booking.


This ensures your team is locked in and scheduled for your event.

Availability & Booking Policy
Our staff are highly trained, well presented, and in high demand. We do not hold dates or allocate staff without a deposit or confirmed payment. If you receive a quote and delay booking, please understand that availability may change—it’s strictly first in, first served.  Our quotes are valid for 14 days.


All of our team members are employed directly by The Cocktail Queen—not casual temps—ensuring consistent quality and professionalism at every event.

Our Standards
Our rates reflect the skill, experience, and dedication of our team. We kindly ask that you don’t request discounted rates—we don’t offer a “cheap” service, because we don’t deliver a cheap experience. With over 20 years in the industry, The Cocktail Queen is known for delivering professional, personable, and polished service every time.

Please keep in mind that our rates not only cover the hourly wages paid to our staff, but also include mandatory business expenses such as GST, superannuation, income tax, PAYG obligations, public liability insurance, and workcover insurance. The pricing you see is reflective of these requirements, ensuring our team is fairly compensated and your event is fully serviced correctly.

🎉 Preparing the Event Service Plan

Once your booking is confirmed, the next step is to send us your food menu — everything you plan to serve on the day. This allows us to map out the correct service flow and create a clear, efficient food‑timing plan for your event.


To ensure everything runs smoothly, we’ll need to know:
•     What food is being served
•     When each item should go out
•     Any accompaniments or garnishes required
•     The planned time for the cake cutting


With this information, we coordinate all timings so your service feels seamless and professional.
And the best part — once we arrive, you won’t need to step foot in the kitchen at all.


Our team handles the prep, heating, plating, service flow, and pack‑down so you can enjoy your event without lifting a finger.

Our team of event supervisors make sure your event runs smoothly by monitoring everything that happens behind the scenes. If you are in the need for an 'on the day' event supervisor, The Cocktail Queen has team of experts available. We make sure everyone is where they need to be and that everything is on schedule. Our supervisors work together with our professional bar, food and wait staff, ensuring your guests receive great service from start to finish. Whether you are hosting an intimate soiree or a large gathering, we are here to provide you with a flawless experience. Travel rates may be applicable.

Food 
Service Staff

Our Food Service Staff do exactly that, provide service of your finger food.  If you are catering for yourself and need food service we have reliable and efficient food service staff to offer your guests platters of food, provide general floor service and clean up your kitchen.

In some events they will assist in bar area in a complimentary capacity to a Senior Mixologist.

If you are wanting someone however to cook, prepare and plate your food then you need to hire a food supervisor.

Travel rates may be applicable.

Supervisor

Our Food Service Supervisors, will heat up your finger food, plate up the platters, and run to timings as per your request, for your event.

They will ensure that the birthday cake is placed out on time and cut up accordingly after speeches.  They oversee and operate the kitchen in an effective manner ensuring the food you have provided for your event is served to your guests.  They work with Food Service Staff who will serve the platters and finger food.  They do not work in the bar area.

Travel rates may be applicable.

TRAVEL FEE

Our travel fees reflect the time, distance, and fuel costs incurred by our team, who use their own vehicles to attend events. These fees are based on travel from our South Melbourne head office, but our staff may be travelling in from outer suburbs to your event, so we need to ensure that our valued staff are fairly compensated for time spent on the road.

🚗 Travel Fees
For events within 11–45km:
A flat collective fee applies, regardless of the number of staff attending.

- 0–10km: $0

-11-20km: $59 (collective fee)

- 21-35km: $79 (collective fee)
- 36–45km $99 (collective fee)

-46-55kms $120 (collective fee)

For events 56km and over:
A per-person travel fee applies due to extended travel times.

56-85km = $160pp


To calculate the distance from South Melbourne, simply search your location in Google Maps (e.g. "South Melbourne to Berwick in kms").


🅿️ Melbourne CBD Parking
A $39 parking fee applies to all Melbourne CBD events—this covers access to secure parking facilities regardless of whether a dedicated bay is provided.

📍 Please note: Any locations outside of these tier areas are subject to quotation only.  We still service these areas, though only upon request.  Additional Areas of Service...

Geelong = $160

Torquay and Bellarine = $240

Lower Mornington Peninsula = $240

For these locations in some circumstances equipment can arrive and depart with lead mixologists on the day - contact us for a quote.


✨ All delivery fees include next-day pickup of equipment, so you can enjoy your event stress-free.
Because our base is located within the Tier 1 zone, delivery fees are calculated to reflect travel time and distance. This ensures fair pricing while allowing us to provide reliable, timely service wherever your celebration takes place.

Should you need a late night pickup we can provide for an additional fee, otherwise all pickups are next day.
